Hi My name is Skylar Nijhawan and I strive for an individualistic rounded approach with all of my clients. As a Bi-racial woman, I understand how important your culture can be and the values that may differ from societal norms. As a Bisexual woman, I understand how much of our identity is tied into our communities and the people we surround ourselves with. I strive to make a safe space for all of my clients regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, or religion. Together we can work on gathering your toolkit to create your own journey into wellness. I use an integrative approach using DBT skillwork, CBT, and Humanistic approach to allow for multiple avenues for you to complete your journey.
My passion is to create a space where conversations about mental health feel natural and open, fostering an environment where clients can express themselves freely. My journey in the mental health field started with a deep curiosity about human connection and a desire to understand how each individual experiences and expresses emotions. I specialize in supporting individuals facing depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and self-esteem issues. My mission is to dismantle the stigmas surrounding mental health, particularly in communities where these conversations are often avoided.
I believe in empowering clients to embrace vulnerability as a profound strength rather than a weakness. Through a blend of interpersonal psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other personalized approaches, I work collaboratively with you to address the internal struggles that may be hindering your personal growth. Our sessions will provide a safe space to deepen your self-awareness and take meaningful steps toward becoming the best version of yourself.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and collaboration, fostering a safe, supportive environment where clients can comfortably explore their thoughts and emotions. By blending evidence-based practices with a compassionate, client-centered approach, I aim to empower individuals facing anxiety, depression, family issues, and women’s concerns to navigate life’s challenges and build resilience. My academic training and hands-on experience equip me with expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based therapies.
I invite you to connect for a consultation, where we can explore how to work together toward your goals and improve your quality of life. I’m committed to supporting you on your journey toward mental wellness and personal growth.
